Welcome back to Emmerdale Live and Organized! In case you haven’t been here before here is what happens. I watch the episode and write down my thoughts as it comes to me in an organized fashion. It’s like a live look inside my brain while watching Emmerdale. Not as crazy as it sounds. Unless you want it to be. *wink*
Let’s crack on!
Since almost everyone and their families were on today I’m going to separate this review to make it as easy to follow as possible. I left a few things out because I just don’t care. I was going to talk about the DNA storyline for the Spencer’s but the ‘Daz’ actor turned me off that story. I’m ignoring it and Dan is Amelia’s dad. SO THERE. Just in general? I LOVED today’s episode. I laughed. I shed a few tears. I got all speculative about the future and I felt a lot of connections I haven’t felt in a long time.
I loved Gerry. I remember when he burst onto the scene all sass and bravado. Over the months we saw a sweet kid who wasn’t really given a chance. We hoped it would grow and flourish. It even seemed like they were developing him. I feel like that was the point though. Life is guaranteed. We all can be struck down right when we are making headway. Gerry is that sad story. Struck down before he could reach his full potential. I wish Gerry kept his mouth shut. Maybe, just maybe, he would have survived. He wouldn’t have been there. Maybe. If Gerry just hung out with Gabby that day or…I wish Gerry was still with us. That final shot of the shoe in the rubble broke my heart. Into a thousand pieces. Rest in Peace Gerry. Don’t worry, Lachlan will get his.
Lachlan is a very complex villain. I call him a villain because he sexual assaulted Alicia, he shot Lawrence, he killed his mother, Chrissie and his grandfather Lawerence (second times the charm?) and that is what he is. A villain. The complexity is his emotions. The fact he cried after killing his mother and grandfather and then Gerry. Is he crying because of his actions or is he crying because its just what he has to do to keep his secrets? It was an accident that Gerry got hurt. However, Lachlan made the kill. He has emotions. He can love. He wants to be part of a family. However, he doesn’t mind killing his family (that includes Gerry). I’m working something out here and I think I need more time with how I feel about Lachlan.
Who thinks Belle thinks she is pregnant? I’d like a show of hands.
The Engagement Party from Hell
This is where I laughed my butt off. I don’t even like Paddy and Chas but their engagement party made me smile. I remember watching a special on Emmerdale (I want to say 40th or 45th anniversary) and the special said that the Woolpack is the main stage of the show. If something is going to explode its going to happen in the Woolpack. That was extremely true tonight. Everyone was coming together (the DNA story, Bob/Laurel/Brenda, Ross/Cain/Moira, and even little side stories from our favorite comedic reliefs.
I love how many characters that normally don’t interact were having a good time hanging out together. I LOVED seeing Lydia (MY HEART MY LOVE) singing with Faith. Sweet Caroline. A song that has been stuck in my head all week. Odd. I loved seeing the Sugden/Potts/Dingle family hanging out together. I loved seeing Marlon and Paddy making fun of Misty. I know a lot don’t like Rodney and Misty but I find them silly in a harmless way. I was surprised Jessie wasn’t there to give Marlon something else to do but I sense she might have hit the cutting room floor. There was a lot going on.
That party looked like fun and I would have found a good seat for the show.
Robron House of Wayward Teens and Children
- Those two TOTALLY want more kids together. I’m in love. This episode had a lot of what people have been wanting for a long time. They were communicating. They were joking around. They are going on a night away (where are my NC-17 Fics?!?!) and they are a family. They just lost a member of their family, but they will survive like they always do. I love how Robron is doing. They are strong. They are happy. They got each other.
Aaron and Doug talking was cute. They are all family and it shows. Liv is going to have a much stronger base to come home to than the last time. Gerry’s death my throw her but she has a good support system. She’s got this. Robert and Aaron flirting was cute.
THEY ARE CUTE OK? *SMILES WHILE CRYING HAPPY TEARS*
The Little Things
- Ross is getting closer. JUST SAYING.
- Thank you for leaving Joe and Debbie out of the episode. We don’t need them.
- God bless the actors who sang Karaoke on screen. I love you and I like you.
- Sam and Lydia are love.
- Rhona and Pete finding their spot to watch the show was me with less beer.
- Chas looked much better. I loved how she kept snapping the cards away from everyone. I don’t know why but it cracked me up. Especially when she asked Doug if it had money. How Dingle of her.
Robert, Paddy, Marlon, Pete and Rhona’s faces when Brenda/Bob/Laurel came into the party. I’m still laughing
