Welcome back to Emmerdale Live and Organized! In case you haven’t been here before here is what happens. I watch the episode and write down my thoughts as it comes to me in an organized fashion. It’s like a live look inside my brain while watching Emmerdale. Not as crazy as it sounds. Unless you want it to be. *wink*
Now that I have pulled myself together here is a more proper review of Monday’s episode. Enjoy!
Sam and Lydia
Sam’s history is coming back and for once Sam has someone who wants to hear about it. Understand Sam’s pain about Alice. It’s very sweet and Sam deserves someone that will have his back. He has that in Lydia. If they take her from Sam and Samson will be so sad. I adore her, but I have hope and have a feeling she will be ok.
I do love how Lydia gets it. Being a widow herself she is already there with the emotions but to get on board with everything that is still torturing Sam to this day? Sam and Lydia are my other favorite couple and I can’t wait to see Samson, Lydia and Sam become a little family.
Graham and Joe
Normally I would be here mocking Joe for being rewritten as some soft hearted guy but here it makes sense. Doesn’t make sense with Debbie but with Graham…yup. Makes perfect sense. Graham and Joe do share a long history and Joe would understand what Graham might be dealing with the next couple of days. That’s why I bought the soft act this time around because there is a history there. Also, the show was setting up Grahams flashback episode which I’m excited to see because I want to know more about this character.
Robert and Aaron (and Family)
Ah. The men of the hour! I obviously adored the proposal. I adored the walk down memory lane. I adored that they are back to the beginning only in different places. They are stronger. They understand themselves better. They understand themselves better. They are happy. They did it together this time because they are a team. They are in love. They are a true family unit now. It was lovely. I’m basking in the sweetness. It’s my prize for sticking with them during the hell of their breakup and everything that came with it. That is why I’m not overanalyzing it. I don’t think it wasn’t enough.
It was perfect to me and I can’t stop rewatching and smiling along with them.
Lachlan and his Murderous Rampage
This section is more theory than anything else. Why? I have nothing nice to say right now. So, here is an unpopular theory. I think things can go two ways with Lachlan in relation to his end.
Rebecca dies saving or protecting Seb in some way. Her only connection on the show right now is Seb. That is the only thing keeping her here. So, everything is around him. Lachlan, being as crazy as he is, would try and hurt Seb. Thomas himself hinted that he would hurt Belle if it meant protecting her…I’m sure the same can be said for his cousin.
The other way? Rebecca is just part of who takes Lachlan down. A cog in the machine. She helps. Gets free and then what. I feel like I make poor Vix listen to this each day, but we keep trying to figure out ways she could stay but with each passing episode, it seems less likely. She doesn’t have a family (Seb being her only family to be honest), her job is a dead end, the show made it very obvious she won’t be ‘cured’ from her brain injury and she doesn’t have a home. Her friend is Victoria (Debbie if the plot calls for it) and even then…Victoria isn’t part of anything right now. She is being set up for a Matty story being drawn back in to the Barton’s. Everyone is going in directions that cement them into the show and she is still sitting there. Floating. I look for ways she is staying so I can be prepared but I am not seeing any reason she would want to stay.
Lachlan still showing that he hates Robert and wants him to pay just screams the final act…the final boss fight will be between Robert and Lachlan (Aaron helping in the background). The final boss fight was always going to be Lachlan and Robert. Since he showed up in 2014 with him…its been building.
I know people don’t want to hear this but yeah. Just my theories. Just my opinions. My blog. My thoughts. I’m not censoring how I feel to make others feel better on my own platforms. Same goes for others. Scream. Yell. Rejoice. Do it on your platforms and do it often. Don’t censor yourselves in your own space. Everyone’s opinions (as VERY different as they are) deserved to be heard.
The Little Things
- Seb is dressed in a hoodie and has that attitude I know well. If we gelled back his hair we have ourselves a mini Aaron running around the episode. I love it.
- There was nothing more and nothing less to the jinx line. There is nothing sinister with the adoption line. Yes, that was plotty, but they are setting something up. Just like Robert and Aaron wanted to lock their future down that includes Seb too. I won’t lie, Robert wrote Rebecca off already which cracks me up. Pushed her aside and is like, “HEY AARON! You want to be an official dad to our kid?” *SNORT* I love you Robert.
- SAMSON DESERVES THE WORLD AND I LOVE HIM.
- Sam and Lydia and Samson all get….BUBBLE WRAP JACKETS!!!!! *welcome to the club!*
- Chas playing matchmaker and getting excited on their behalf made me smile. Wow. What a difference a few months makes.
