Welcome back to Emmerdale Live and Organized! In case you haven’t been here before here is what happens. I watch the episode and write down my thoughts as it comes to me in an organized fashion. It’s like a live look inside my brain while watching Emmerdale. Not as crazy as it sounds. Unless you want it to be. *wink*
Let’s crack on!
I felt like this would happen. Ross feeling low and thinking he sees something that isn’t there. Trying for it and getting rude about it when pushed away. I think Rhona just wanted to see Ross smile. Have someone in his corner. Her boyfriend’s brother is in pain and she feels she can help. It’s very sweet. I bet you Ross will apologize (in his own Ross way) down the line. He is at his lowest point and when he finds out about Debbie and Cain? Who knows what point he will be at next. I never expected the Rhona/Ross thing to go that far and I think I might be right.
I actually found this interesting. How an affair affects the children. Usually in soaps that doesn’t come up but I’m glad they are going there. Arthur is upset and I’d be too at that age. Any age really but that is the age where you think your parents can’t do wrong. They know more and you look up to them. Arthur doesn’t have that now. That time is shattered, and he has entered the point we all get to as teenagers. Our parents are human. They screw up and do stupid things. Laurel has done a very stupid thing. I’m convinced that Laurel is grieving and acting irrationally. She is coming back now and suffering the consequences of her actions. Not just to her reputation (we know its coming) but her relationships with her children. Interesting and different look at this situation. Makes it less common and hurts a lot more to watch.
The actor who plays Arthur is amazing. Lets all bow down to the greatness.
Love the symbolism of a broken Ashley in front of his broken family.
I was secretly hoping that this experience Liv is going through would make her stronger in the end. When this teacher showed up and showed an interest in her and her ability to be better, I got a smile on my face. Finally, she can be focused (no alcohol or other family problems hitting her all the time) and she has a dedicated teacher to help her along. Robert and Aaron can only do so much with the time and money they have. That part of this experience might be great for Liv. A new starting point to a better version of herself.
As someone who was once a teenage girl, I can say her roommate is trouble and Liv needs to be prepared for her to strike at some point. I’m worried she might do something to her pictures but also, she might try something else that we don’t see coming. Either way, being a teenage girl sucks but it has to suck so hard when you are a teenage girl locked up with other teenage girls for a long period of time. I believe Liv will fair better than Aaron and that is what makes her prison storyline different from Aarons.
Brenda. Some advice? Grow a pair and kick Bob out and tell Laurel off in public. Pull off the band-aid. Time to move on. Bob? You are very much in character and you suck. NEXT TOPIC!
Belle/Lachlan/The Little Voices
Those damn little voices. They are getting to Belle. I do love how easily ‘Belle’ makes herself look small when she is stressed or going through something with her mental health. She normally comes across as someone who takes up space and itself apologetic about it. Right now, she is getting smaller and smaller. Paler too.
I’m so conflicted about Lachlan as a character. He is a sexual harasser. He killed two members of his family. Gaslighted them for a month or so. Hid in an attic. Tried to shoot his grandfather. Went to prison. Crashed his car because he was mad at his mom. Almost slept with a hooker. Did drugs. Has a smart mouth on him.
Yet, I’m interested in him. I wonder if that is a better version of Corrie’s Phelan character. He has done so much and a lot no one actually knows about and yet we are still watching and waiting to see what happens next with him. What could go wrong and what is going right. Right now everything is going right. Kind of. His little family is falling apart, and Belle is losing it. Just a matter of time now. TICK TOCK GOES THE CRAZY CLOCK!
The Little Things
- Are the purple coffee cups the reusable cups they are promoting on the sign in front? It’s bugging me and I want one too.
- Jessie and Lydia had a sweet and meaningful conversation. I APPROVE AND I WANT LYDIA AND JESSIE TO BE BEST FRIENDS. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
- I want all of Jessie’s clothes yesterday.
- Also, Jessie was married twice. One husband died, and one was just…trash? Maybe? That is the impression I got.
- No Joe but THAT IS A GOOD THING. Bring on Graham though. I like me some Graham. Should I make the Graham Cracker joke now? NAH…I’ll save that for a special occasion.
- This episode was a bit slow but there was a lot of building of story and character building as well. We need these moments to take a breath and remember there are other characters and they need time too.
- Jimmy. Little Jimmy. *SNORT*
