Welcome back to Emmerdale Live and Organized! In case you haven’t been here before here is what happens. I watch the episode and write down my thoughts as it comes to me in an organized fashion. It’s like a live look inside my brain while watching Emmerdale. Not as crazy as it sounds. Unless you want it to be. *wink*
Some housekeeping. Obviously, this is late. I couldn’t watch live today. I had some family business, so this review is a bit different. It’s not a live reaction so to speak but an overview of my thoughts on each main plot and some little stuff at the end. Also, tomorrow, expect an announcement on here before my review about the future of ‘Emmerdale Live and Organized.’
Let’s crack on!
Here is the thing they have consistent with Ross. He has no problem going after a woman like a man. He manhandled Rhona, Charity and his own mother. I think he was only verbally abusive to Rebecca, and it was after everything came out, but Ross doesn’t have a great track record with how he treats women. When he grabbed Rhona that way, I wanted to backhand him. Not cool Ross. Not cool. I know Ross backs off and apologizes which is progress. He knows he did wrong. Good. He is self aware! FINALLY. Its time Ross notices what he has done in the past. I’m not here for the ‘poor me’ act, but everything else works.
Out of everyone, Rhona is the one to understand and get Ross through this. At least stop him before it gets too bad. Like with her. I saw that storyline and it’s intense, and it almost cost Rhona her life. I assume Rhona would want to help Ross not go down that path too.
Rhona and Pete are adorable. DON’T TOUCH THEM SHOW. Ross and Rhona would be good friends. JUST FRIENDS. *evil eye at the show* Don’t make me fly to the UK show. DON’T.
Chas and Paddy
Poor Chas. She is not having a good start to this pregnancy. I wonder if she has what Kate Middleton gets when she is pregnant. Also, Paddy tried to make her feel better, which was very sweet. She just needs to grin and bear it now.
He wants her to move to a house. Away from the pub. Why do I sense Chas didn’t really want this kid after all? I really hated how she got to her decision, and I wonder if that was on purpose now. Maybe to show that women have to make the decision for themselves since we are the ones that carry and care for the child the rest of our lives. She is so miserable now. It will just get worse as she gets bigger. A lot of what they are talking about should have been discussed when they were talking about abortion (which everyone is afraid to say in the show) and moving forward as a family. What did both want in life and can a kid successfully fit in that life? A life that gives the kid love, attention and structure? That is why they are fighting. NO ONE TALKED. Now this baby is coming into a tense situation (if they don’t find their way to a happy middle). That’s not fair to this kid at all. This story is messy as hell.
This is something Chas and Paddy always seemed to have problems with. Communication with what they want out of their lives separately and together. That is why the house was a flop and Paddy went ahead and acted like Chas would be into it. What is the lesson kids? NEVER BUY A HOUSE UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN YOUR PARTNER IS ON THE SAME PAGE!
“Walking womb” – Chas (I think the show is just jabbing at certain Twitter users with that comment.)
I loved Robert taking time off just to give Liv a hug. That is very sweet. Very much like a parent. Robert is an old man parent. Pass it on. *wink* Also he is trying to keep Aaron centered over all the Liv drama. He needs to calm down to keep Liv calm. Much like how Seb notices when they are stressed. Same for Liv.
I find it odd though that the show made a point of Liv noticing Joe. It was off camera (or a deleted scene), but it must be significant. I still think Joe will interfere with Liv’s trail to get back at Robert and Aaron. Maybe Liv plays a role down the line with a Joe storyline. Gets in the way. Maybe.
I like how the show used the virtual reality again. Aaron used it to forget about his pain (maybe even love) for Robert during the worst of 2017. Liv is now using it to forget about the possibility of going away. Gerry tried to help her with pointers, but it made it worse.
All because of Gabby and her narrow focus on Daz, for some reason, we are now in a big mess. A mess I am afraid Liv won’t get out easily. Should she get out of it easily? She is still drinking. Gabby isn’t though. Gabby is back to normal. Liv is still drinking to stop the pain. That is like leaving a loaded unfired gun in a room. Sooner or later, it will go off at the worst time. Liv’s water bottle of vodka will go off and it won’t be pretty.
Gerry is awesome. He can draw! We are developing him! That makes me so excited!
A friend, Kat, was convinced that Vanity was stuck in Robron 2016 mode. Fight and break up just to make up. Which, after today, that seems to be the case, but they did it the worst way possible. Robron did that over stupid crap in 2016 (which became big crap in 2017). Vanity started with the big crap and didn’t have to fight to get to a better place. One day later and everything is better. Which….no.
What Vanessa did wasn’t right. At all. I understand her motives. I know where she was coming from. However, that doesn’t change what happened. Charity opened up to Vanessa. Something she doesn’t do for just anyone. Then Vanessa turned around, against her wishes, and called the cops. Vanessa is in the wrong. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Charity has every right to be pissed off and feeling betrayed.
The show seemed to frame it all wrong. Like, Charity was in the wrong because she freaked out and ran to a man? Which…no. Charity can be pissed at Vanessa. Vanessa did a good thing badly. BADLY. I don’t know. They should not have gotten back together so soon. Charity and Vanessa should have tried to rebuild from a different place. Getting back together that soon, the foundation is broken. They will fall apart again. Like Robron did in 2016. The show might want that right now though.
The Little Things
Because of @mrdinglesugden on Tumblr, I’m now thinking about Gerry possibly being Charity’s long-lost son. *OH GOD*
How could Tracy not know about Beaches?!?! It’s the best crying movie ever! Next to Steel Magnolias.
Also, Tracy’s jean on jean action should never happen again. I love 80s style but I’d rather that one dies for good. Another Tracy thing? Charity helped her through really hard times, and then today Tracy is all, screw Charity? I’m going to think that is just a writing issue and let it drop for now.
Megan being all up in Franks daughter’s business is interesting. Might be for plot’s sake but its interesting none the less.
Frank isn’t happy about Vanity still. Hmmmm…will that come into play someday?
April is such a kid and I’m glad they are allowing her to be a kid. Nothing worse than soap kids who don’t act like kids. April is adorable. Love her.
