Emmerdale Not So Live but Still Organized – April 24, 2018

Welcome back to Emmerdale Live and Organized! In case you haven’t been here before here is what happens. I watch the episode and write down my thoughts as it comes to me in an organized fashion. It’s like a live look inside my brain while watching Emmerdale. Not as crazy as it sounds. Unless you want it to be. *wink*

Let’s crack on!

The Bartons

I really liked that last shot of the episode.  The one where Ross went right back to that courtroom with Simon. Almost like he made the decision to take justice into his own hands at that “Not Guilty” verdict.  It was a great moment. I won’t be shocked if that gets him a lot of votes (If Michael Parr makes the short list. I personally still want Ryan on there).

I’m glad Pete and Ross made up.  The Bartons are a small bunch now, and they got to stick together.  Ross screwed up, but I think that part is done now. He is going to screw up again, but at least he has Pete by his side. Family to the end.

I figured something wrong would happen during the trial since we have had so many justified verdicts it was time for some injustice. It’s a lot more interesting to see Ross handle it his own way. I’m sure Debbie and Cain aren’t far behind either.

I was confused by Faith being so ‘Pro Ross’ when I don’t think they hung out or talked much but I might have forgotten a few plot points. Either way, I enjoy seeing Faith on screen too.

Jimmy and Nicola

I don’t know what to think about this.  I mean, I know what my friend thinks happened, but I don’t want to think of Jimmy like that. I mean, good for him getting his mojo back and all but yeah. I don’t want to think about Jimmy and sex ever again.  Misty isn’t a bad character, but I think she is a ‘sex therapist’ like Bernice is a ‘certified couples counselor’.

I won’t lie, because I am dead tired, the remote moment between Jimmy and Misty made me laugh like a teenage boy trapped in a 30-year-old woman.   The train metaphor is a bit much, but I appreciate the show trying.

I’m a Megan and Graham shipper. Just saying that right now. I think the two of them had a good vibe between them. Also, Graham looked a bit smitten with her.  Frank seems clueless, but that is ok.  I never hated Megan and Frank. After the Megan and Charity scheme, I never understood why Frank and Megan came back together. It was like they had another story planned and had to leave it behind for some reason.

I think Graham might connect to Megan but also her kid. Graham still has feelings about the kid he never had. Now he might have found a woman he likes but the kid is sick. What is he to do? I’m interested in that story. Graham away from Joe. Dealing with his past and his present and his future. I just like Graham people. I really like Graham. Joe can go die.

I do enjoy how supportive Eric is of Tracy.  Same with Frank. Tracy has a ton of support after her ordeal, and I love the show for giving her that. Even better? The show is going to have Tracy rise up and talk about her experiences openly and have it not be in whispers or in shame. Tracy is going to face trouble (Dales is just around the corner) but she has a crew, and I love that she can do anything. Tracy is one of my absolute favorites.

I’m glad to see Harriet back in the mix. Let’s hope we see more of her soon.

On a Personal Note

I’m going to miss Iain MacLeod. He was good for the show. He was. He understood Robert and let him grow. Accept himself for once and figure out how to be alone.  He didn’t need to lean on anyone to be ok. Once he was feeling strong as an individual, he could be with someone who loves him.  He made Robron stronger. He brought Coira back together. He gave us Lydia, Faith, and Graham. He gave us wonderful super soap weeks and helped the show grow past whatever Kate Oates did to it. Now he will clean up her mess on Corrie. I look forward to the new showrunner and what she will bring to the table. My gut tells me it will all be ok. As I always say, time to crack on!
